I am happy to be a part of a community that on the outside may appear to be superficial is actually one of the most opening group of folks I have come across. I’ve met so many individuals in my fitness journey who have motivated and driven me to not only be strong physically but internally as well.

This is an example of just being at the right place at the right time when it comes to street photography.
candid; taken informally, especially without the subject's knowledge.
The best photos taken are the ones we least expect. Sometimes we just need to accept life as it flows rather than trying to control it. When I was first introduced to photography some of my favorite photos that caught my eye were the ones of people who just lived their lives. A photographer learns to see life, flowing and coming at you and moving past you. We can’t stop life to capture it, but we should just learn to live with it instead.
I never thought I would say this living in a state where its beauty stems from nature but downtown Anchorage has a way of captivating me. As I got older, the city began to mean something different in other ways. It was a place I imagined I would grow up and live. The tourists walking down the street greet us, the vendors want us to try whatever food they’re making, and the local business owners take pride in the stores they built. If you ever get the chance, take a moment to stop by one of the gardens and smell the flowers.
portrait; a painting, drawing, photograph, or engraving of a person, especially one depicting only the face or head and shoulders
While I may agree with the Layman’s terms of “portrait” the thought of capturing someone on photo was also capturing some form of their identity. Whether it be something that happened candidly, a moments notice, or maybe even helping them break out of their shell in order to help them capture how I see them, I’ll always be there for the moment to capture it.

Throughout my series of photos you’ll see moments of my time spent in the Pacific Northwest area, more so specifically in Portland, Oregon. My brothers currently reside there and visiting them has always been my mini escape from Alaska.
