My name is Marc Marmeto. I am a freelance photographer and filmmaker currently operating and working out of Anchorage, Alaska.
Photographer:
I first got my start in photography my sophomore year of high school when I took a beginner’s photographer class. That evolved as the next two years as I was one of the select few to partake in the advanced course that my professor curated for those he believed he could foster into professional photographers. As you can tell, it stuck. I’ve shot everything from senior portraits, couple photo shoots, hired shoots inside gyms, work places, weddings, you name it. What separates me from your typical photographer is that I don’t invest too much time in the props, staging, or anything that seems out of the norm. My belief in photography is that we should just allow life to happen as opposed to controlling it. Through my work you’ll see that while I do specialize in portraits, I do my utmost best to just create something as natural as I can.
Filmmaker/Cinematographer
For as long as I could remember I have always been enamored with film. Importantly, I have been in love with storytelling ever since I was kid. As a cinematographer I want to be able to tell stories through imagery being brought to life on video. To take the mundane things and making them extraordinary. When someone’s putting on a coat in a film, it’s no longer just that, it’s an experience. My belief is that the cinematographer’s sole purpose on set is to thematically tell the story through the shot.
